Children's choir
Saint Bernard Parish has a strong commitment to fostering the sung
liturgy in a way that enlivens and involves the faithful either as leaders of
musical worship or as members of the assembly. Our goal is to lead,
inspire and engage those who come to the church for corporate prayer and worship.
Children's Choir is made up of boys and girls in the third through the
eighth grade (boys, until the voice change). They are given
age-appropriate
instruction in music theory, voice-building, and liturgy by both Stephen
Schall and Frederick Schell. During the choir season the Children's Choir
sings for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass one Sunday each month. Practices for
boy
and girls are held on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 p.m. and from
5:45:00-6:45 p.m. Children may attend either or both practices.
