St. Bernard Angel Tree – A Christmas Sharing Project

Angel Tree Each year St Bernard Parishioners generously reach out at Christmas to those in need in our community through our Angel Tree.   Parishioners who are able to share their means with those who have little are invited to participate.  We receive the wishes of young ones and nursing home residents in our area and place them  on paper angels on Christmas Trees in the sanctuary.  The Angels are coded for the agency or group the child or adult is represented by and the need is written on the back.  Once the gift is purchased by a parishioner it is returned to the parish – wrapped or unwrapped as indicated by the tag – and then will be distributed to the agency to get home in time for Christmas morning.  This very special ministry requires lot’s of “elves.”  If you are interested in helping, contact Angela Gaughan, Director of Social Service Outreach at 412-561-6021.

There is also often the opportunity for a parish family to adopt another family in need.  From Christmas gifts, to Christmas dinner, to whatever you could imagine for the holidays.  If this is something your family might be interested in please contact Angela or Father Dave.
