Pittsburgh Trombone Project
Sunday, September 13th – 4:00 P.M.

Dedicated to raising the profile of the trombone as a chamber music instrument, this quartet along with organist Chaz Bowers presents a concert of sacred and classical music from the baroque to the contemporary.

Voces Solis
Sunday, October 4th – 4:30 P.M.

Choral music from the Renaissance and Medieval periods, featuring William Byrd’s Mass for 3 Voices, performed by Voces Solis under the direction of Ryan Keeling. The program is titled “Agnus Dei: A Celebration of Sacred Polyphony.”

Jacob Temple, Organist
Sunday, November 29th – 4:00 P.M.

Currently the Director of Music Ministries at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Greentree, Mr. Temple presents a solo organ recital entirely from memory in partial fulfillment of his Masters Degree in Organ Performance from Duquesne University, studying under Dr. Ann Labounsky.

Lessons and Carols
Sunday, December 13th – 4:00 P.M.

The Chancel Choir of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church joins the St. Bernard Parish Choir for a program of nine scriptural readings coupled with anthems from the seasons of Advent and Christmas. Included are The Dream Isaiah Saw, In the Bleak Midwinter, and Biebl’s Ave Maria.

Prelude to the Mass of the Nativity
Thursday, December 24th – 10:15 P.M.

An imaginative interpretation of familiar carols in Cecilia McDowall’s new cantata A Winter’s Night provides a joyful welcome to the birth of our Lord, presented by the St. Bernard Parish Choir.

Blessing and Dedication of the Clairvaux Hall Organ
Sunday, January 17th – 4:00 P.M.
(Lower Church)

Parish organists Chaz Bowers and Aaron Sproul perform for the dedication of Clairvaux Hall’s new Viscount Physis organ on the anniversary of its installation. Concert proceeds benefit the Lee Hohman Organ Concert Fund.

Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra
Sunday, February 28th – 3:00 P.M.

The simple yet intense Schubert Mass in G provides the centerpiece for this concert by the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Warren Davidson, also featuring the St. Bernard Parish Choir.

Schola Cantorum Franciscana
Sunday, March 20th – 4:30 P.M.

Comprised of students at Franciscan University under the direction of Mr. Nicholas Will, this choral ensemble presents a “Vespers for Palm Sunday.”

Tyler Randolph, Organist
Sunday, April 10th – 4:00 P.M.

A student of Dr. Ann Labounsky, Mr. Randolph performs a solo organ recital in partial fulfillment of his Masters Degree from Duquesne University. Mr. Randolph is currently Director of Music and Organist at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Irwin.

Erin Schmura, Soprano
Friday, April 29th – 8:00 P.M.

Recipient of the Pittsburgh Concert Society’s Young Artist Award, Ms. Schmura presents a vocal recital towards her Advanced Musical Studies Certificate, Carnegie Mellon School of Music, from the studio of Jennifer Aylmer.

Sing We of the Blessed Mother
Sunday, May 22nd – 4:00 P.M.

A celebration of Mary Our Mother through musical selections on Marian themes, performed by St. Bernard Parish cantors and instrumentalists.
